みなさまこんにちは！
Safari Kidsクラスです!
今回は今月行ったSEIクラスの様子についてお伝えします☆
This month in SEI, our focus was on friendship, inspired by the delightful book The Blue Chameleon by Emily Gravett.
In the first part of our session, the children gathered for reading time.
まず始めに、エミリー・グラヴェットさんの絵本『The Blue Chameleon（あおいカメレオン）』にちなんで「友情」をテーマに取り組みました。
クラスの前半では、子どもたちが集まって絵本の読み聞かせをしました。
They were curious and attentive, eagerly following the story as it unfolded.
お子さま達はとても楽しそうにお話の世界に入り込み、最後まで夢中になって聞くことができました。
Using the illustrations as prompts, they answered questions thoughtfully and even shared their own experiences, connecting with the story in a meaningful way.
Next, we moved on to our craft activity.
絵本のイラストを見ながら、子どもたちは質問に答えたり、自分の体験を話したりして、物語をより身近に感じながら楽しむことができました。
そのあとはクラフト活動を楽しみました。
Each child received a chameleon template which they brought to life with paint. Using q-tips, they carefully applied colors to their chameleons, experimenting with patterns and shades.
お子さま達はカメレオンの型紙を受け取り、絵の具で色をつけて自分だけのカメレオンを作りました。綿棒を使って丁寧に色をのせながら、模様や色合いの組み合わせを工夫して楽しみました。
To add an extra layer of creativity, we placed cling wrap over their painted chameleons, allowing the children to mix the colors beneath, creating unique.
さらに創造力を引き出すために、絵の具を塗ったカメレオンの上にラップをかけ、色を指で混ぜ合わせてオリジナルの模様を楽しみました。
The final results were truly wonderful. Each chameleon reflected the child’s creativity, just as each child brings something unique to their friendships.
出来上がった作品はどれも本当に素敵で、子どもたち一人ひとりの創造力がカメレオンに表れていました。まるで、お友だちとの関わりの中で、それぞれが自分らしさをのびのびと発揮しているように感じられました。
This month’s SEI session reminded us all that celebrating differences and sharing experiences are at the heart of meaningful connections.
今月のSEIクラスでは、一人ひとりの違いを認め合い、経験を分かち合うことが、心のこもったつながりを育む大切なものだということを、みんなで感じることができました。
Encourage your child to talk about their day, share what they learned from the story, or even try a
simple craft together.
ぜひ、お子さまに一日の出来事をお話ししてもらったり、絵本から学んだことを一緒に振り返ったり、簡単な製作に取り組んでみたりしてみてください。
In addition, our classroom was buzzing with excitement as our students practiced their scissor skills! With bright paper, bold lines, and plenty of smiles, the children got to work snipping away.
また、手先を動かす活動では、お子さま達のはさみの練習でにぎやかでした！カラフルな紙や太い線を使いながら、笑顔いっぱいで楽しそうにチョキチョキ切る姿が見られました。
We started with easy straight lines, then
moved on to curvy paths.
最初はまっすぐの線から始め、その後、曲がった線にも挑戦しました。
It was amazing to watch their concentration and pride grow with each cut.
Scissor practice not only strengthens little hands but also boosts coordination and confidence — plus it’s just plain fun!
We’ll keep exploring different cutting activities in the coming weeks, from craft projects to creative challenges.
一つひとつ切るたびに、お子さま達の集中力や達成感がどんどん高まっていく様子を見るのは、とても素敵な時間でした。
はさみの練習は、手先の力を育てるだけでなく、手と目の協応や自信も育むことができ、もちろん楽しさもいっぱいです！
今後の数週間も、工作や創造的な挑戦など、さまざまな切る活動に取り組んでいく予定です。
We’re so proud of how careful and focused our little learners are becoming.
お子さま達が少しずつ丁寧に、集中して取り組めるようになってきたことを、とても誇りに思います。
