Hello everyone! This is No Borders Okazaki School.

Today, we`ll show some highlights from our afterschool Elementary Plus class.

This month we’ve been practicing adjectives (like old, new, short, tall), and today we did an activity focused on opposites (the opposite of old = new, the opposite of tall = short, etc).

Students were given cards with adjectives written on them and then worked together to match each card with its’ opposite.

They finished everything in only a few minutes!

After that, we did an activity where we wrote a list of 6 adjectives (1. Old, 2. New, 3. Big, 4. Small, 5. Long, 6. Short) on the board.  The teachers showed a number on a dice, and then students had 2 minutes to take turns drawing as many things as they could that fit the adjective.

After each round, the teams described what they drew.

They had some very creative answers, like drawing “cake” for the “short” round (“shortcake”).

They laughed a lot, but also tried their best to think of as many answers as possible!

Finally, we practiced spelling words based on pictures.  Many students remembered “magic E” and the “ou” sound, but “stairs” (かいだん) was the most difficult!  Let’s see if we can remember next time!

Great job everyone!
