This last Friday was one of our quarterly ‘Training and Preparation Sessions’. The classes are closed to students, yet all the teachers work. We dedicate this time to training, cleaning and preparing for the next couple months.
This last Friday, we had some really positive training sessions for both our Japanese instructors and our English teachers. David Paul, a renowned psychologist and children’s author came to our Anjo location and trained on different topics, including ‘Child-centered approach’ which is the core to the No Borders philosophy. Also, the preschool and Kinder teams had separate time to prepare for the rest of the quarter.
Meanwhile, the Japanese teachers gathered together at our Chikusa location and spent several hours in different areas of professional development and management techniques. Some of the sessions that they had were on ‘Child safety and development’, ‘Personal career development’ as well as ‘Leadership training’.
It was a wonderful time for all our teachers, and I am glad that we have several opportunities a year like this to get together and enhance our teaching and team skills.
