Hello everyone! This is the No Borders International School Toyota branch!
Today we will be showcasing our Tuesday Intermediate class which usually has 8 students, but today we had a guest student making it 9 in total!
To begin with we started by playing slam/karuta where the students needed to listen to what card was being said and try to get the card the fastest. We reviewed words from last unit (sleeping, standing, sitting, fishing, and reading), as well as learned the new words for this unit (studying, shopping, coloring, cooking and jumping.)
After we played another game where the students needed to guess which action the other student was miming using the previously mentioned words.
Next we used animal puppets to ask each other if the action we asked about was the same on the card. So for example; “Is it fishing?” and then responding with “Yes, it is.” or “No, it isn’t.”.
Then we played a telepathy game where one student would choose one of four sentences and try to send it to their classmates’ minds using telepathy. They then had to guess what sentence was being thought.
Next we did a reading time reading about a girl from Spain. After reading the students came up to the front and tried to point out where Spain is on a photo of a world map.
Finally we finished the day with a writing exercise and dictation which focused on words and phrases that we studied during the class that day.
