Our Saturday Kindergarten class at Toyota Center was full of smiles, laughter, and so much active learning! Here is a look at all the exciting activities we did today!
1. Music & Movement: Rock, Paper, Scissors! ✂️✋🐵 We kicked off our morning with an awesome Music and Movement session! We sang our Hello Song and played a big game of Rock, Paper, Scissors so all the kids could interact and play together.
-
The children had so much fun playing with their friends and challenging the teachers!
-
Whenever a student beat a teacher in Rock, Paper, Scissors, they felt so proud and excited!
Circle Time: Imaginary Telescopes! 🔭☀️ After moving around, we gathered for Circle Time to check today’s weather!
-
Everyone used an imaginary telescope to look outside and see what the weather was like.
-
We asked the kids, “What color is your telescope?”
-
They enthusiastically called out all their favorite colors, like blue, red, black, and purple!
Special Craft Activity: Underwater Sea Creatures 🐠🐙 Right after Circle Time, we jumped into today’s special hands-on craft project!
-
The children got creative and made their very own underwater sea creatures.
-
They loved bringing their colorful ocean animals to life!
Flashcard Game: “I LIKE…” 🧺🍉 After a delicious lunch, we got active again with a fast-paced flashcard game to practice our target sentence: “I LIKE ________.”
-
We laid fruit flashcards all over the floor next to baskets featuring family members from our storybook, Sam and the Magic House.
-
The teacher called out directions like, “Daddy likes watermelon!”
-
The kids searched the floor for the watermelon card and dropped it right into Daddy’s basket!
-
Then, we asked each student, “Do you like watermelon?” and they practiced answering with “Yes, I like watermelon” or “No, I don’t like watermelon!”
It was such a fun, high-energy day of learning from start to finish! A huge thank you to all our amazing Kinder students for bringing so much excitement to Saturday class! See you next time!
