This is the Advance 2 class for the Showa School After-School Program ♪
When we play a writing game on the whiteboard to review the new words we learned last week , we decide who gets to write them in order .
Everyone is very eager to try, and they’re having fun doing the dictation, saying “I want to try it again!”^^ At first, they hesitated to write when they didn’t know how to spell something, but they helped each other out and tried their best in an atmosphere where it was okay to make mistakes.
For reading, we all read from the textbook together, and to ensure we understood the content, we used the Jeopardy game to reinforce our understanding as we went along.
Instead of simply reading books, we incorporate games into our lessons to help students retain the information, and we see them actively participating in discussions at every stage!
